Letters to Our Sons - November 2014

Hello Mr 3-year old!

Yep that's right you have just turned three and already we are seeing some fantastic developments in you.

Toilet training is never a fun part of parenting, and we had pre-school to help support us in getting
you there.  For a solid week, I didn't think you would get there but once it clicked in that gorgeous
little brain of yours, it clicked.  Oh how I jumped for joy!  I know that you saw that joy too.  I was so
proud of you!  Then not long after being toilet trained during the day, you decided that at night you
didn't want to wear nappies either.  I thought we would give it a crack and you proved how
awesome you are and it only took two bad nights till you were a machine at this.

So now you are a BIG boy.  You aren't a baby and happily tell people what you have achieved.

Your vocabulary is coming along also.  You still have a slight stutter, which can be both frustrating for you but also cute.  Your brain knows what it wants to say but the words just aren't reaching your
mouth quick enough, so you often say "but-but-but" as your way of waiting for those words to
connect from your brain to your mouth.

We are looking forward to a long Summer holiday - only a month away! - where we can spend
more time with you and relish seeing you enjoying the warmer temperatures, water and play time
​with your cousins.  Counting the days...........
