We have been in our new house for 6 weeks now. You guys are enjoying more space, the stairs to go up to your bedrooms and discovering new places to play. I'm hoping that this home will be where we live for the next ten years or more. We have plans to make the backyard a fun place to play and to decorate your bedrooms. Because it has been a cool and wet month, we have been doing a bit of playing inside. There has been lots of drawing and cutting out of animals that we then play with. Your dad is a an amazingly creative man. His drawing skills are far better than mine and created one of these the other day. People played with these when I was a little girl at primary school. You both enjoyed the reveal of each little layer and what silly thing that daddy had drawn. Ryan, your crazy and amazing memory soon learned what character you would be if you choose a certain number, while Elliot, you just enjoyed watching the paper move in and out. Elliot is more of the drawer in the family and enjoys sitting quietly drawing away with scribbles, circles and lines. While you, Ryan were never interested in drawing at that age, but are showing more interest now as your creations are taking place into actual identifiable objects. Your favourite way of drawing however, is asking dad to draw something for you and then you colour it in or cut it out as you enjoy using scissors and sellotape more than actually drawing I think! I love watching the differences - whether they are large or small - in you both. I hope that you will support each other regardless of your differences and will accept the other despite what they may be. We are a family and family is the most solid unity you will ever have in your life. xxxx

We moved house this month. This has been a long time coming and a big change in our lives. We
do not lead transient lives like many people do in other countries and I lived in the same family home with my parents for over 20 years. We only moved around the corner as I am really happy where we live. We have friends here, we have family here. This little community is our home and where you boys are making new friends and discovering a new world. This new world will seem so big to you both for quite some time. There will be plenty here to keep you happy and entertained for years to come. As you reach your teenage years you will want more excitement and more challenges and may look forward to reaching out and discovering something new and different. That is what life is all about. Just know that your father and I will always be here for you both, the door will always be open to you both, and we are both a phone call or message away should you need to talk to us or need us for anything. I always say to you both that to keep this family happy and working we each have a very important job to do - daddy looks after mummy; mummy looks after Ryan; Ryan looks after Elliot; and Elliot looks after daddy. That is our circle that keeps our family ticking and loving each other. xx |
